Goldbeck Rhomberg remains on course in challenging times

Despite challenging conditions, the construction and services company achieved very good earnings in the past financial year 2023/24: with turnover of 381 million euros, Goldbeck Rhomberg once again significantly exceeded the turnover from the previous financial year.

The company, headquartered in Wolfurt, generated turnover of EUR 381 million from 1 April 2023 to 31 March 2024. At the same time, order intake rose to 413 million euros. "The fact that we were able to increase in this way shows that our way of building continues to pay off," says Georg Vallaster, Managing Director at Goldbeck Rhomberg.

The construction industry is currently facing considerable challenges and there is no short-term improvement in sight. Strong cost pressure is reducing the number of building permits issued and will further exacerbate the current situation in the construction industry. Nevertheless, Georg Vallaster observes: "It is precisely this complex overall situation that brings customers into contact with us - in the expectation that projects can be realised economically and quickly together with us as a partner." The number of building applications is also falling in residential construction. Serial construction is the key to quickly meeting the growing demand for affordable yet high-quality living space. Goldbeck Rhomberg can deliver well thought-out layouts, high technical and energy standards and architectural freedom.

The company's commitment is particularly evident in its core disciplines. In Gattendorf, Goldbeck Rhomberg is building a logistics and service centre for Deutsche Logistik Holding Real Estate Austria GmbH (DLH) on an area of around 100,000 square metres. The project was awarded the highest platinum standard by the German Sustainable Building Council (DGNB).

Another highlight this year is the receipt of an additional major order from the MLP Group. A business park is being built on a brownfield site of around 100,000 m² in the north-east of Vienna. The project comprises an impressive 47,000 m² (industrial building) surface area and 6,200 m² of mezzanine fixtures. The project is scheduled for completion in early 2025.

A new project is also being built a stone's throw away from the Vorarlberg headquarters. In the immediate vicinity of the freight station, the company is building a high-bay warehouse with adjoining office buildings on a plot of around 30,000 square metres, which will provide space for around 350 employees. Completion of the new building for Gebrüder Weiss is planned for early 2026.

"We take a holistic approach to every project and strive to save resources in all units, promote biodiversity and minimise land sealing. Integrated Design and the element-based GOLDBECK system construction methods enable efficient and resource-saving implementation of the projects," explains Dr Dominik Pfeiffer, Team Manager Sustainability at Goldbeck Rhomberg. Customers are dealing with increasingly strict sustainability regulations and prioritising the climate-friendly realisation of their properties. "With our expertise in design, construction and operation, we advise customers and offer solutions that make ecological and economic sense."

In the past financial year, Goldbeck Rhomberg not only realised pioneering buildings on behalf of its customers, but also strengthened its own presence. With the opening of a new office in Villach, Austria, the company is also establishing a regional presence in Carinthia. Due to continued employee growth, it was also necessary to move into new premises that meet the New Work standard at the Salzburg and Vienna locations.

Managing Director Georg Vallaster provides an outlook for the coming financial year: "If we continue to focus on our strengths, systematic modular construction with a system that saves resources and keep the customer's needs in mind, I am confident about the coming year."
